Thursday on Archer and Bell with John Michaels:
-We talked with ESPN baseball analyst Chris Singleton about some of the stories around baseball. He thinks BJ Upton's early season struggles create a difficult situation for Fredi Gonzalez. Chris had some great things to say about Evan Gattis' "old school" style of play and really likes the back story of the Braves budding star!
-Stephen A. Smith of ESPN's First Take also joined the show! Stephen A. does not think the Hawks have any chance in landing Dwight Howard or Chris Paul because Atlanta is perceived as less than desirable as a sports town. Smith gave us insight into both of the current playoff series and he also had an interesting take on the Tiger Woods/Sergio Garcia spat.
-The Heat/Pacers game went down to the wire last night as Lebron James hit a layup as time expired in overtime to win it for the Heat. A lot was made of Pacers' coach Frank Vogel's decision to sit his best defensive player Roy Hibbert. The guys all agree that Hibbert has to be on the court to make the Heat hit a jump shot in that situation.
