On The Red Zone

Thursday February 14 2013

Today on the show:

- At 12:32 we were thrilled to be joined by ESPN college basketball expert Andy Katz. Last night he got into a confrontation with Jim Boeheim during the Syracuse post game press conference. Click below to hear Boeheim call Katz an "idiot and a disloyal person." Below that, you can hear Katz on with the guys from The Red Zone offer his response to Boeheim's criticism.

- During the second hour of the show we discussed some new rules that will be added to college football in 2013. We talked about the new rule that allows an official to eject a player from a game if he deems a hit to be intentional and above the shoulders. Also, in 2013 the NCAA is mandating that each team wear contrasting colors to the color of the playing surface. So Boise State can no longer wear their blue uniforms on their blue turf.

- The guys seem to like all of the new rules but Wes and Tony both agreed that the officials job to determine if a hit was intentional or not will be a very hard thing to do. It will most likely create lots of controversy the first few times the new rule is implemented.
