David Pollack, UGA’s most decorated defensive player and three-time All-American.
Pollack grew up in Snellville, Georgia, and his prolific athletic career began at Class 5A Shiloh High School and continued through his four years at the University of Georgia. Pollack was the SEC player of the year (2004), recipient of the Lombardi Award (2004), in addition to being named the Nation’s Top Defensive Player and twice-named the Top Defensive End in his four year collegiate career. In the 2005 NFL Draft, Pollack was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals as the 17th overall pick. He suffered a broken vertebra in 2006 which eventually led to his decision to retire. He has since fully recovered from the injury and married his high school sweetheart Lindsey.
David Pollack's ascension in sports media has been impressive. During his time with 790 The Zone, Pollack has become one of the most respected college football analysts. Even though his role has expanded at Bristol, we know he'll always stay true to his roots and is a southern boy at heart.
