10 games that shape the ACC

This is a very important year for the ACC to shape itself into the national power that was envisioned back in 2004 when they expanded to 12 teams. The great thing for the conference is there are plenty of games in 2010 that will be on the national radar.
10. Florida State vs. Clemson -- In a game that should decide the Atlantic Division, FSU will look for payback for last year's 40-21 defeat.
9. Georgia Tech vs. Virginia Tech -- The last two Coastal Division champs meet in a start to a brutal three-game stretch for the Hokies ... look for the winner to have a leg up.
8. FSU at Miami -- Last year's 38-34 Miami win was one of the best games of the year ... could this be meeting one of two?
7. Georgia Tech at Georgia -- Tech will look for payback between the hedges -- can new Defensive Coordinator Al Groh slow down the Dawgs' ground game?
6/5. UNC vs. Virginia Tech, Miami at Ga Tech -- I have this date circled, and so should you: Nov. 13. It's a four-way round robin between the four Coastal Division favorites; winners here could be ACC title game-bound.
4. Virginia Tech vs. Boise State -- Boise St. could run the table, and the biggest obstacle will be the Hokies to open the season.
3. UNC vs. LSU -- The best way to kick-start the ACC would be for the Tar Heels to beat a high-level SEC school. Look for the Heels' defense to confuse Jordan Jefferson.
2. FSU at Oklahoma -- Jump in your Delorean and jet back to the 80s. Two of the best start a great home and home on Sept. 11 ... Mark Stoops vs. older brother Bob. Jimbo's first big game, Christian Ponder kicks off the Heisman campaign ... storylines abound.
1. Miami at Ohio St -- Payback from the Fiesta Bowl of '03? Terrelle Pryor vs. Jacory Harris, two top-10 teams coming into 2010, and a jacked up early out-of-conference game. Can Miami truly be back? And can this be the statement game to signify the ACC as a football power?
It should be a great year in the conference, and let's hope these games play out as well as they look on paper.
