John Michaels Top 10 Week 2

We take a look at the top 10 in college football in my eyes after the first full weekend of action.

1. Alabama - Even though the offense struggled to the 4th fewest yards in FCS in week 1, Christion Jones saved the day with 3 TDs in a 35-10 beatdown of Virginia Tech. Next up in 2 weeks a date with Johnny Football and Texas A&M.

2. Clemson - How can you not be impressed with Clemson beating a Top 5 opponent in Georgia in week 1. Tajh Boyd accounted for 5 scores and Sammy Watkins reintroduced himself to college football. Next up South Carolina St in a sleepwalk special

3. Oregon - Ho hum, 66-3....772 yards of offense vs Nicholls up a trip to ACC country vs Virginia

4. Ohio St - got off to a fast start vs Buffalo, then hit the midgame struggles, still cruised 40-20. Defense must be better if they want to contend for it all. Next up San Diego St

5. Stanford - Bye dare you in week 1

6. Louisville - No challenge from Ohio, which could be the theme throughout the season. Teddy Bridgewater was brilliant throwing for 5 scores, with only 5 incompletes. Next Up Eastern Kentucky

7. LSU - Terrence McGee and Alfred Blue paced the ground game, and Zach Mettenberger threw a late TD pass to beat TCU. The defense had some struggles, but they are head and shoulders better on offense. Next Up UAB

8. South Carolina - Not a great effort from JC, but the defense shut down UNC on thursday night. We will learn if Connor Shaw and company can move the ball like they did early vs UNC this week when they head to Athens to play the Dawgs.

9. FSU - Jameis Jameis Jameis Jameis....ok the Heisman hype is starting....kid threw 2 incompletes in the blowout vs Pitt. Can we fast forward to the game vs Clemson....The ACC has 2 legit title contenders. Next Up Nevada

10. Washington - Yes from unranked to number 10. They had maybe the most impressive win of the weekend destroying Boise St 38-6. get to know the names Bishop Sankey and Keith Price....these kids can play. Next Up a bye then off to Illinois in 2 weeks.

Dropped out: Georgia, Florida and Texas A&M
