DAMN! Dan Gilbert went in on Lebron!

DAMN! Dan Gilbert went in on Lebron! I totally agree (except for the stuff about Cleveland winning a championship, hehe)! Why go on National TV to humiliate the city you supposedly love? On a serious note, my Brother-in-law (who's from Cleveland and still lives there) broke it down to me about the destruction this will cause to that city. He said thousands of jobs will be lost downtown. Thousands. Business owners will lose everything around the arena. Its gonna be Detroit Part II. I really feel for those folks. Simple question: Did Lebron handle this the right way?

Now jordan and Majic putting ther two since in ......but heres my reply Magic has no room to talk ....he played with superstar kareem jabbar and james worthy.....Bird played with superstar Mchale and Parrish to name a few and both teams had super role players.....they didn't need to join forces as they were already playing with superstars.... as for Michael Jordan he was in the league for many years without a title until supserstar pipen arrived and the right supporting role players.....For many years Jordan was putting up great numbers but no title. none of the greats have won a title by themselves.....not even air jordan.......So everyone needs to get over it as Lebron, Wade and Bosh gave up millions of dollars a piece for the best chance at winning

After making over $150 Million for a franchise and taking the team to winning like never before, Gilbert should have said thanks! If the fans of Cleveland are truly behind the franchise, let's see if the attendance is 20k w/LJ or 10k like before.

Dan went in on Lebron... But unless you are from Ohio you really don't understand. I think Gilbert was only saying what most people in Cleveland feel right now. I think he def went too far when he pronounced a curse on Lebron...smh... and was speaking from emotions when he said the Cavs would win a championship before the Heat... (dude what are you smoking?).. But I'm from Ohio, and the people there have literally been screwed every way but up... Everything that brought revenue to the city has left.. not only have people lost jobs but people who were already retired have lost their pensions and healthcare too....it's that bad... and I think most people back home thought if because he is one of us he would understand the devastation it would cause if he left...and they way he left... yea, Cleveland and Gilbert are like a woman scorn right now...

This is a business...it blows my mind that people think he's obligated to Cleveland. In 7 years, the organization did not provide enough resources for the TEAM to win a championship, if they did Lebron would have stayed. This is a TEAM game, not an individual game. If i'm a cleveland fan, i'm more upset at the owner for not providing one of the best players a reason to stay and why in 7 years have they not provided an Championship TEAM just in case lebron leaves. I am not a Lebron fan but respect what he did. He was a FREE agent, no ties to anybody, he wants to win a championsip now!!!!!!

Let's cut to the chase here - LeBron is a coward. He could have been straight up with Cleveland, told them that he was leaving as would any other free agent, and, though they would hate him anyway, he wouldn't be as hated as he is now. He deserves mostly all the venom directed to him now. Furthermore, the last thing people in Cleveland needs from anyone outside of Cleveland is advice or criticism about what they do with LeBron memorabilia. Here's the deal folks: if I, as a fan, pour my money and support behind a star athlete and then that athlete goes out like a punk, I have the right to do any damn thing I want to with the product that I bought with my money. The t-shirts, jerseys, posters - burn 'em all, or use them as toilet paper. LeBron tended to his business, now let the people of Cleveland tend to theirs.

Lebron is a busta. He could have given his home town a little more respect. I know it's a business but there is such a thing as business ethics. Has any team displayed a spectacle the way Miami did when big name players came to a team? Let's see if this blows up in their face.

It's incredible how people jump to judge everybody very quickly. Lebron James was simply the most valuable asset of the Cavs Organization and it's understandable that this such owner is extremely upset with his "business" loss... The point is Lebron is also a "business man" and he took the best decision possible for his "business" of winning with even a certain disregard for the money he could have made staying with his former "loosing" organization. I absolutely applaud Mr James decision to put himself in the company of other two awesome players like Dwade and Bosh, thanks to Mr Riley, since Mr Gilbert and his crew in Cleveland couldn't make it happen anyways!! Go Lebron, Wade and Bosh and lead your team and business of winning to many years of Championships!!! Congrats to all involved in this amazing accomplishment by the Miami Heat Organization. They deserve it!!!

Lebron did what he had to do. He had to leave and Dan Gilbert has damaged the reputation of the Cavs permenantly by making those remarks. Who would want to come there now? I don't understand why people are up in arms or tripping about this trio teaming up. This is the generation that AAU has impacted players so much by "stacking" teams, where players have transferred schools 4 and 5 times to get on better teams. This is not surprising at all. I'm just surprised that people don't give them credit for the money aspect having little to do with their decision and more to with winning. The elder statesmen of the NBA need to give these cats props instead of tearing them down. Because for them it was about the money and ego.....for these players it's about winning!!!

Dan Gilbert is acting like a kid used to having his way. It's understandable that you would be disappointed you lost your cash cow and most valuable asset. However, Dan Gilbert went way beyond being upset. Gilbert is so upset because LeBron did not succumb to his persistent sucking-up since this year's playoff loss. LeBron refused to be a part of any coaching or GM decisions. He wanted to be free of any covert deal making so he could make an honest evaluation and business decision. I applaud LeBron for his smarts and business savvy. It's great when you can control your own destiny.

No he didn't handle it the best possible way, but even if he did, the pain would still have been there. Is there a "correct" way to break up with someone? No. So, criticizing the way he did is not the issue. The point is he left & no matter how he did it, there were gonna be broken hearts. Another thing is that Cav fans didn't mind the spotlight when he did the powder thing or when his team danced all along the sidelines. No problem with that, so they shouldn't have expected a conservative approach to this free agency. It's called chickens coming home to roost.

Dan Gilbert acted like a bitter woman after a break up. LeBron could/should have called Cleveland and let them know before he let the world know. The Ohioian in him could have at least done that out of respect
