One of the most entertaining parts of the NBA Finals are the postgame Phil Jackson press conferences. He is relaxed, edgy, funny and almost totally candid. You get a chance to see his competitive nature, how he might interact with his players and what really and truly agitates him.
When you have 10 NBA titles, you don’t have worries about who you might be offending and will say pretty much whatever is on your mind. I love the way he is forced to describe what he just saw that night from Ron Artest -- fascinating TV.
I just watched the movie “Bruno” for the first time and I will tell you -- that movie has some outright hysterical parts. The sequences with the adopted baby O.J. are simply priceless.
There have been few things as tough to watch in recent Atlanta sports history as the 2010 Chipper Jones season.
Of all the things most frustrating about the Mike Woodson era, his handling of rookie Jeff Teague may be at the top of the list. The fact we have a quickly deteriorating Mike Bibby and yet have no idea whether Teague can play is really disgraceful. Would it have been so awful to give Teague 25 minutes of action against the Wizards or the Nets in February?
It is amazing to see the numbers that David Ortiz continues to put up for the Red Sox. He has been left for dead by the media and fans at least three times and then has your basic 12-homer, 35-RBI month.
It seems like "Mad Men" has been on hiatus for about three years. Can’t wait to see how this new ad agency comes together.
"True Blood" on HBO may even be a little too over the top for my wide open taste.
How can someone not sign Ray Allen to a two- or three-year deal?
Michael Turner is a weapon that is flat-out invaluable for the Falcons in 2010. Very simply, if Turner is anywhere close to his 2008 dominance, this team could be looking at 11 to 12 wins. Any real setback and it is another dogfight to simply make the playoffs.
Just can’t get excited about paying the nine bucks to see Karate Kid 2.
Linda Cohn has completely become yesterday’s news on ESPN.
Colin Cowherd, from all indications, is simply not a very good guy.
Playing two hands at the same time at blackjack and watching the dealer bust three hands in a row is simply one of the great highs in life.
I don’t care if some folks don’t get it, I am a big time fan of turkey tetrazzini -- yeah, it’s the dish with the cream and the egg noodles.
LeBron James is going to have a really hard time saying no to New York once they put the full-court press on. Come to think of it, I think that is where this guy belongs.
There has never been a player quite like Rajon Rondo in the history of the NBA; literally no one you can really compare him to. When you think about that previous statement it gets more and more incredible.
Derrick Favors will have a very solid but unspectacular NBA career.
A good lobster bisque is, yeah, I’ll say it Dimino -- a little slice of heaven.
