10 guarantees for the NBA Finals
Posted 6/1/2010 3:10:00 PM
1. Paul Pierce will have a moment where he is fouled going to the basket, and he will go down like there is a sniper who took him out in the upper deck. After a dramatic four minutes on the floor, he will gingerly get up and drill two foul shots. What a hero.

2. Pau Gasol will get banged around by Kedrick Perkins and Rasheed Wallace and give that whiny European face to the referee, begging for a call.

3. Marc Jackson, Jeff Van Gundy and Mike Breen will be thoroughly entertaining on the ABC broadcast. On a similar note, Magic Johnson will look like he is forcing it when trying to be critical of the Lakers, and will give us virtually zero insight that we could not have gotten from the guy at the next cubicle.

4. Rajon Rondo will be as entertaining to watch as any Celtic since Larry Bird.

5. Phil Jackson will look at Ron Artest like he just made some vile comment about his mom. It will have something to do with shot selection and his conversations with the referees.

6. Kobe Bryant will continue to have 30-point nights in virtually every game of the series. However, the key will be that he will shoot less than 44 % from the field and have a few 9-for-24-type games.

7. Doc Rivers will continue to be one of the most underrated coaches in all of sports. His perfect demeanor following Boston wins and losses will remind everyone that the psychology of how to manage big personalities is often times more important than any X’s and O’s.

8. Kevin Garnett will go up for an alley oop dunk and all of America will respond with the same phrase: “Damn, KG got old.”

9. Lamar Odom will go to the foul line in the first game and most of America will have the same conversation in their living room about, “why is he married to that skank?”

10. The Celtics really impressive bench, (Big Baby, Wallace, Tony Allen, Nate Robinson and even Michael Finley) will win a couple of games outright for Boston. Rondo will cause incredible matchup nightmares for the Lakers, Artest will have an awful offensive series and Ray Allen will hit five three’s in Game 7 in leading the C’s to their 18th NBA Title. Sorry Kobe, 0-for-2 vs. the Green Team ...

I guess this view is off to a great start! The bench for the Celtics are overrated. Finely is old, "Big Baby" is just that, Rasheed is a few techs away (and believe me he and Perkins will miss a game)and Nate Robinson is erractic. Fouls will mount and the KG yell will be no more than a yelp. Pierce will finally get an academy nod for his acting and tears at the end of how they got beat down. This year bully ball goes down.
